The Business Model Behind Our Content Library

October 21, 2016 By Grant T. Aguinaldo

Envera Consulting: Content Library
Envera Consulting: Content Library

Many people ask us why we invest so much time, money and effort in building our content library.

In short, it builds our business.

But more than that, we do it because it goes back to the core reason Envera Consulting was started in the first place: to be a key resource for navigating California’s complex maze of air quality regulations.

And we mean this even if you don’t end up working with us.

We started this company because we see things differently.

At the core, a consulting business is supposed to dispense free or paid-for advice in a specific area.

Our business still operates that way, but we’ve added another layer: teaching. Our key differentiator is that we want to help folks even if they don’t end up hiring us.

Why?

We live in a world where we can learn practically anything online.

Whether it’s free or paid for, the content is there, and you can get on your way faster than ever before.

Our business is still focused on dispensing advice about California’s air quality regulations, but we’ve also seen that in the current consulting model, our ability to dispense advice is limited to our clients.

In other words, our advice is inaccessible to most people because they are not paying clients.

Given the ease with which you can learn most anything online, we’re now able to reach more people by having a content library and by teaching people about what we do and what our clients pay us for.

And almost all of the content is free (we do have some paid material too).

What about the business?

On the business side, investing in content we give away for free is justified; some of our clients have come to us because they found us from our free content library and online seminars.

We believe our content library is the first of its kind related to California air quality regulations, and we’re proud of that.

Therefore, we put time, money and effort into building our content library because it allows us to dispense advice to more people, and it allows us to grow our business.

Lastly, we believe that if you find value in our content now, you’ll be back when you’re ready to invest in us with a paid project.

Too many companies help only paying clients, but what makes us different is our desire to help even those who don’t pay.
